Current status: Synonym of Anguilla bengalensis (Gray 1831). Anguillidae. Distribution: Western Indian Ocean and Africa: South African, East African, R√©union and Mauritius (western Mascarenes) watersheds and adjacent waters of Western Indian Ocean. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
