Type catalog: Bertin 1940:296 [ref. 293], Whitehead & Bauchot 1986:32 [ref. 9739]. •Valid as Setipinna brevifilis (Valenciennes 1848) -- (Whitehead et al. 1988:453 [ref. 5725], Talwar & Jhingran 1991:133 [ref. 20764]). Current status: Valid as Setipinna brevifilis (Valenciennes 1848). Engraulidae: Coiliinae. Distribution: India. Habitat: freshwater.
