Holotype: BPBM 33941. Paratypes: BPBM 22916 (1), MNHN 1979-0569 (2), USNM 308844 (1). •Valid as Centropyge debelius Pyle 1990 -- (Fricke 1999:346 [ref. 24106], Fricke et al. 2009:75 [ref. 30213], Gaither et al. 2014:44 [ref. 35448], Wickel et al. 2020:434 [ref. 37728], Tea et al. 2020:3 [ref. 37258], Durville et al. 2021:313 [ref. 38802], Heemstra 2022:436 [ref. 39850]). Current status: Valid as Centropyge debelius Pyle 1990. Pomacanthidae. Distribution: Southwestern Indian Ocean: Aldabra (Seychelles) and Mayotte (France) to Tromelin Island and Mascarenes (La Pérouse Seamount, La Réunion, Mauritius and Rodrigues). Habitat: marine.
