Genus originally misspelled as Pseudocanthicus in the above abstract, later corrected as Pseudacanthicus when illustrated and described in more detail in Steindachner 1915:92 [p. 78 of separate], Pl. 10 (figs. 1-3) [ref. 4244]; also in Steindachner 1917 [ref. 15259]. •Valid as Exastilithoxus fimbriatus (Steindachner 1915) -- (Isbrücker 1980:78 [ref. 2303], Burgess 1989:438 [ref. 12860], Isbrücker 2001:27, 32 [ref. 25653], Isbrücker 2002:15 [ref. 27178], Fisch-Muller in Reis et al. 2003:384 [ref. 27061], Ferraris 2007:237 [ref. 29155], Lujan et al. 2018:[5] [ref. 36081]). Current status: Valid as Exastilithoxus fimbriatus (Steindachner 1915). Loricariidae: Hypostominae. Distribution: Caroni and Matacuni River basins in Orinoco River drainage, Venezuela. Habitat: freshwater.
