No. 446; ref. 15493] Madang Barrier Reef, Papua New Guinea, 5°15'S, 145°50'E, depth 5 meters. Holotype: SMNS 9048. Paratypes: BPBM 16113 (1); SMNS 8466 (1), 8479 (1), 9049 (2). Type catalog: Fricke 1995:7 [ref. 28100], Fricke 2005:22 [ref. 29864]. Fricke 2002:66 [ref. 26547] questionably identifies one paratype (BPBM 16113) of this species as Synchiropus springeri Fricke 1983. May use Synchiropus or Minysynchiropus; authors differ. •Valid as Minysynchiropus claudiae (Fricke 1990) -- (Hoese & Bray 2006:1584 [ref. 29000], Allen & Erdmann 2012:850 [ref. 31980], Fricke et al. 2014:155 [ref. 33932]). •Valid as Synchiropus claudiae Fricke 1990 -- (Fricke 2001:3555 [ref. 26292], Fricke 2002:54 [ref. 26547], Fricke 2016:50 [ref. 34468], Fricke 2016:20 [ref. 34659], Fricke 2017:183 [ref. 35548]). Current status: Valid as Synchiropus claudiae Fricke 1990. Callionymidae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Australia, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands. Habitat: marine.
