Holotype: RMNH 29425. Paratypes: RMNH 29426 (2). Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:181 [ref. 29155]. •Valid as Pimelodella meesi (Sands & Black 1985) -- (Burgess 1989:281 [ref. 12860]). •Valid as Brachyrhamdia meesi Sands & Black 1985 -- (Bockmann & Guazzelli in Reis et al. 2003:411 [ref. 27061], Ferraris 2007:181 [ref. 29155], Slobodian & Bockmann 2013:20 [ref. 32905], Slobodian & Bockmann 2016:356 [ref. 34933], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:90 [ref. 35633], Grant 2021:151 [ref. 38702]). Current status: Valid as Brachyrhamdia meesi Sands & Black 1985. Heptapteridae: Rhamdiinae. Distribution: South America: upper Amazon River basin (Peru, Colombia and Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
