pallaryi, Salmo Pellegrin [J.] 1924:971 [Comptes Rendus Hebdomadaires des Séances de l'Académie des Sciences v. 178; ref. 23042] Lake Aguelman de Sidi Ali or Mohamed, 30 kilometers north-west of Itzer, Middle Atlas, Morocco. Syntypes: (2) MNHN 1923-0066 (1), 1924-0146 (1). Type catalog: Bertin 1940:305 [ref. 293] with a holotype, 1923-66. Also appeared in Pellegrin 1924:182, Fig. [ref. 15462]. Fowler's use of Salmo eriox pallayeri Hoyer & Michalski 1915 was apparently a misspelling as pallayeri of Salmo pallaryi Pellegrin 1924 and with wrong author and date (see Kottelat 1997:142 [ref. 22952]). Salmo fario is the only trout name that appeared in Hoyer & Michalski 1915:212 [ref. 22001]. •Possible synonym of Salmo trutta Linnaeus 1758, subspecies macrostigmus (Duméril 1855) -- (Behnke 1984:125 [ref. 6177]). •Questionably a synonym of Salmo cettii Rafinesque 1810 -- (Kottelat 1997:135 [ref. 22952]). •Valid as Salmo pallaryi Pellegrin 1924 -- (Delling & Doadrio 2005:49, 52 [ref. 28211], Doadrio et al. 2015:2 [ref. 33950], Delling et al. 2023:[6] [ref. 39858]). Current status: Valid as Salmo pallaryi Pellegrin 1924. Salmonidae: Salmoninae. Distribution: North Africa: Lake Aguelman de Sidi Ali (Morocco) [extinct]. Habitat: freshwater.
