Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:137 [ref. 29155]. •Valid as Clariallabes melas (Boulenger 1887) -- (Teugels 1986:68 [ref. 6193], Burgess 1989:145 [ref. 12860], Taverne & De Vos 1998:214 [ref. 23316], Ferraris 2007:137 [ref. 29155], Stiassny et al. 2021:1687 [ref. 39000]). Current status: Valid as Clariallabes melas (Boulenger 1887). Clariidae. Distribution: Western-central Africa: Congo River system (Democratic Republic of Congo). Habitat: freshwater.
