Holotype: IHASW 866007. Paratypes: IHASW 865014 (1), 867005 (1), 876005 (1), 8801001 (1), 8807001 (1). Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Sinocyclocheilus macrolepis Wang & Chen 1989. Sinocyclocheilus macroscalus Li 1996 was supposedly a replacement name appearing in Li et al. 1996 [ref. 25911], but the name did not appear there. The name Sinocyclocheilus macroscalus is not available from Shan et al. in Yue 2000 or Zhang & Zhao 2001 because the name was not proposed explicitly as a replacement name. •Treated as a synonym of Sinocyclocheilus macroscalus Li 1996 -- (Shan et al. in Yue 2000:56 [ref. 25272], Zhao & Zhang 2006:773 [ref. 31176]). 1°Homonym.
