Paratypes: ZIN 34953A (7), 42381-82 (1, 1). Type catalog: Chernova 1998:769 [ref. 24687]. "Liparis tunicatiformes Schmidt sp. n." in Lindberg 1959:255 [ref. 26863] is a nomen nudum. •Synonym of Liparis agassizii Putnam 1874 -- (Kido 1988:185 [ref. 12287]). •Valid as Liparis tunicatiformis Krasyukova 1984 -- (Lindberg & Krasyukova 1987:400 [ref. 15964], Chernova 1998:769 [ref. 24687], Chernova et al. 2004:30 [ref. 27592], Chernova 2008:841 [ref. 30236], Parin et al. 2014:342 [ref. 33547], Dyldin & Orlov 2022:218 [ref. 39115]). Current status: Valid as Liparis tunicatiformis Krasyukova 1984. Liparidae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: Sea of Japan and southern Kuril Strait. Habitat: marine.
