Lectotype: AMS I.2770. Paralectotypes: AMS I.2771 (1). Lectotype selected by Feltes 1993:212 [ref. 20316]. •Valid as Parapolynemus verekeri (Saville-Kent 1890) -- (Feltes 1993:211 [ref. 20316], Hutchins 2001:38 [ref. 25847], Feltes 2001:3103 [ref. 26107], Motomura 2004:5 [ref. 27601], Motomura 2004:35 [ref. 27970] dating to 1889, Hoese et al. 2006:1252 [ref. 29092], Larson 2013:147 [ref. 32988], Kang et al. 2017:[2] [ref. 35524]). Current status: Valid as Parapolynemus verekeri (Saville-Kent 1889). Polynemidae. Distribution: Western Pacific: southern New Guinea and northern Australia. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
