Syntypes: (4) whereabouts unknown. Type catalog: Whitehead & Talwar 1976:157 [ref. 23762], Ferraris 2007:85 [ref. 29155] We assume Day revised the description in his style and may have taken information from the figure rather than quoting directly from Tickell. •Synonym of Batasio tengana (Hamilton 1822) -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:551 [ref. 20764], Menon 1999:211 [ref. 24904]). •Questionably a synonym of Batasio affinis Blyth 1860 -- (Ng & Kottelat 2001:497 [ref. 25746], Jayaram 2006:80 [ref. 28762], Ferraris 2007:85 [ref. 29155]). •Valid as Batasio fluviatilis (Day 1888) -- (Ng & Kottelat 2008:293 [ref. 29391], Ng 2008:1 [ref. 29713], Darshan et al. 2011:52 [ref. 31332], Kottelat 2013:257 [ref. 32989], Plamoottil 2015:1806 [ref. 33977], Ng et al. 2019:529 [ref. 36606]). Current status: Valid as Batasio fluviatilis (Day 1888). Bagridae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Malaya (Malaysia), Thailand, and Myanmar. Habitat: freshwater.
