Holotype: NMW 5953. Paratypes: NMW 5954 (1). Described as a new species and new subspecies. Also described as new by Radda 1971:81 [ref. 31303]. •Valid as Aphyosemion mirabile Radda 1970 -- (Wildekamp et al. 1986:225 [ref. 6198], Romand in Lévêque et al. 1992:612 [ref. 21590]). •Valid as Fundulopanchax mirabilis (Radda 1970), subspecies mirabilis (Radda 1970) -- (Lazara 2001:132 [ref. 25711]). •Valid as Fundulopanchax mirabilis (Radda 1970) -- (Wildekamp 1996:185 [ref. 23649], Murphy & Collier 1997:797 [ref. 25585], Berkenkamp 2003:55 [ref. 27548], van der Zee et al. 2007:121 [ref. 30034]). Current status: Valid as Fundulopanchax mirabilis (Radda 1970). Nothobranchiidae. Distribution: West-central Africa: Cameroon. Habitat: freshwater.
