H.] 1959:198 [Bulletin of the British Museum (Natural History) Zoology v. 5 (no. 7); ref. 20616] Beach near Nasu Point, Buvuma Channel, Lake Victoria [Victoria Nyanza], Uganda. Holotype: BMNH 1958.1.16.31. Paratypes: BMNH 1958.1.16.32-33 (2), 1958.1.16.34 (1), 1958.1.16.35-36 (2), 1958.1.16.37-62 (26 or 25). •Valid as Haplochromis cryptodon Greenwood 1959 -- (van Oijen et al. 1991:118 [ref. 20956]). Current status: Valid as Haplochromis cryptodon Greenwood 1959. Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Victoria. Habitat: freshwater.
