Current status: Valid as Venefica procera (Goode & Bean 1883). Nettastomatidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: New Brunswick (Canada) south to southern Brazil, including Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea; western Pacific: Celebes Sea (Indonesia); eastern Pacific: California (U.S.A.). IUCN (2022): Least Concern. Habitat: marine.
