schotti, Sternarchus Steindachner [F.] 1868:252, Pl. 1 (figs. 1-2) [Sitzungsberichte der Kaiserlichen Akademie der Wissenschaften. Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftliche Classe v. 58 (nos 3-4); ref. 14082] Manaus, Brazil. Holotype (unique): NMW 65335. Type catalog: Ferraris et al. 2017:[11] [ref. 35236]. This species was not included in the earlier abstract of the main work [ref. 20464], but as pointed out by Lundberg et al. 2013 [ref. 32552] it was described there as Sternarchus capanemae; the two species are based on the same specimen. See the account of Sternarchus capanemae Steindachner 1868. •Valid as Sternarchella schotti (Steindachner 1868) -- (Ortega & Vari 1986:12 [ref. 9708], Mago-Leccia 1994:34 [ref. 21320], Albert 2001:111 [ref. 25614], Albert in Reis et al. 2003:500 [ref. 27061], Lundberg et al. 2013:171 [ref. 32552], Sarmiento et al. 2014:188 [ref. 35004], Ivanyisky & Albert 2014:572 [ref. 35449], Ferraris et al. 2017:[11] [ref. 35236], Evans et al. 2017:24 [ref. 35357], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:68 [ref. 35633], Bernt et al. 2018:474 [ref. 35797]). Current status: Valid as Sternarchella schotti (Steindachner 1868). Apteronotidae: Apteronotinae. Distribution: Amazon River basin: Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia and Peru. Habitat: freshwater.
