jenynsi, Ophiogobius Hoese [D. F.] 1976:304 [Copeia 1976 (no. 2); ref. 20691] Chonos Archipelago in Lowe's Harbor, south of ChiloĆ©, off Chile, western coast of South America. No types known. Replacement name for Gobius ophicephalus Jenyns 1842 [misspelled by Hoese as ophiocephalus], but still preoccupied by Gobius ophiocephalus Pallas 1811 [regarded as same spelling based on Art. 58 of the Code]. •Valid as Ophiogobius jenynsi Hoese 1976 -- (Pequeño 1989:66 [ref. 14125], Stepien 1990:600 [ref. 19879], Van Tassell 2011:155 [ref. 31732]). Current status: Valid as Ophiogobius jenynsi Hoese 1976. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Southeastern Pacific: Chile. Habitat: brackish, marine.
