Holotype: AMNH 9599. Paratypes: AMNH 9600 (3), 33993 (1). Type catalog: Ferraris et al. 2017:[29] [ref. 35236]. •Valid as Brachyhypopomus duidae (LaMonte 1929) -- (Mago-Leccia 1994:50 [ref. 21320]). •Valid as Steatogenys duidae (LaMonte 1929) -- (Schwassmann 1984:106 [ref. 5345], Albert & Crampton in Reis et al. 2003:495 [ref. 27061], Crampton et al. 2004:78 [ref. 27504], de Santana & Crampton 2011:1155 [ref. 31643], Ferraris et al. 2017:[29] [ref. 35236], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:66 [ref. 35633], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:21 [ref. 39298]). Current status: Valid as Steatogenys duidae (LaMonte 1929). Rhamphichthyidae. Distribution: South America: Orinoco and Amazon basins (Brazil, Colombia, Peru and Venezuela). Habitat: freshwater.
