Paratypes: CAS 79640 [ex IU 13428a] (1), FMNH 56467 [CM 5280b] (1). Replacement name for Iridio bimaculata Wilson 1916:68 [ref. 12398], secondarily preoccupied by Halichoeres bimaculatus Rüppell 1835 when both are in Halichoeres.
