Holotype: USNM 121751. Paratypes: Dahl coll. Current status: Valid as Lycengraulis limnichthys Schultz 1949. Engraulidae: Engraulinae. Distribution: Lake Maracaibo River basin, Venezuela. Habitat: brackish, marine.
