Type catalog: Golani 2006:27 [ref. 28840] with holotype as 13593 (needs checking). •Valid as Parascolopsis baranesi Russell & Golani 1993 -- (Russell 1996:64 [ref. 22469], Naik et al. 2002:75 [ref. 26716], Nair et al. 2012:396 [ref. 32543], Nair et al. 2016:1 [ref. 34793], Bogorodsky & Randall 2018:[5] 243 [ref. 36492], Golani & Fricke 2018:95 [ref. 36273], Sonwal et al. 2022:[2] [ref. 39132], Russell 2022:333 [ref. 39836]). Current status: Valid as Parascolopsis baranesi Russell & Golani 1993. Nemipteridae. Distribution: Red Sea endemic: Gulf of Aqaba. Records from India questionable. Habitat: marine.
