Paratypes: (2) FMNH 77009 (1, missing). Type catalog: Ibarra & Stewart 1987:75 [ref. 12367], Ferraris 2007:178 [ref. 29155] •Valid as Rhynchodoras woodsi Glodek 1976 -- (Burgess 1989:225 [ref. 12860], de Pinna 1998:309 [ref. 23847], Sabaj & Ferraris in Reis et al. 2003:466 [ref. 27061], Ferraris 2007:178 [ref. 29155], Birindelli et al. 2007:681 [ref. 29263], Barriga Salazar 2014:115 [ref. 35745], Birindelli 2014:536 [ref. 33501], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:22 [ref. 39298]). Current status: Valid as Rhynchodoras woodsi Glodek 1976. Doradidae: Rhinodoradinae. Distribution: South America: Essequibo and Amazon basins, but not in Xingu and Tocantins basins (Brazil, Ecuador, Guyana and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
