Syntypes: ZMMU P-3647 (1), P-3651 (3). Type catalog: Vasil'eva et al. 2001:27-28 [ref. 25714]. Original genus is correctly Nemacheilus. •Valid as Triplophysa kafirnigani (Turdakov 1948) -- (Prokofiev 2006:256 [ref. 29061], Prokofiev 2010:908 [ref. 31096], Kottelat 2012:127 [ref. 32367]). Current status: Valid as Triplophysa kafirnigani (Turdakov 1948). Nemacheilidae. Distribution: Tributaries of the Syr-Darya River, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Habitat: freshwater.
