platyrhyncha, Caecula (Sphagebranchus) Gosline [W. A.] 1951:312, Figs. 1, 14 (b, d) [Pacific Science v. 5 (no. 4); ref. 1858] Between Laie and Kaneohe, Hauula Park, north shore of Oahu Island, Hawaiian Islands. Holotype: USNM 152543. Paratypes: BPBM 5543 (1), 14200 [ex UH 316] (10, now 9), 37410 [ex UH 958] (9); USNM 152544 (3). •Synonym of Ichthyapus vulturis (Weber & de Beaufort 1916) -- (McCosker 1977:68 [ref. 6836]). •Valid as Ichthyapus platyrhynchus (Gosline 1951) -- (McCosker & Randall 2005:7 [ref. 28054], Mundy 2005:132 [ref. 28379], Randall 2007:66 [ref. 30952]). Current status: Valid as Ichthyapus platyrhynchus (Gosline 1951). Ophichthidae: Ophichthinae. Distribution: Hawaiian Islands. Habitat: marine.
