Paratypes: LACM 21549 [ex AHF 299] (1), 21551 [ex AHF 310] (1). •Valid as Ariosoma hemiaspidus (Wade 1946) -- (Smith in McCosker & Rosenblatt 2010:188 [ref. 30957], Tighe et al. 2019:1 [ref. 39678], Page et al. 2023:56 [ref. 40505], Fricke et al. 2024:130 [ref. 41622]). Current status: Valid as Ariosoma hemiaspidus (Wade 1946). Congridae: Bathymyrinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Pacific coast of Baja California Sur (Mexico) to Gulf of California (Mexico) south to Guatemala. IUCN (2019): Data Deficient. Habitat: marine.
