Type catalog: Provenzano et al. 1998:16 [ref. 24196], Ferraris et al. 2017:[25] [ref. 35236]. •Valid as Microsternarchus fimbriipinnus (Mago-Leccia 1994) -- (Albert & Campos-da-Paz 1998:426 [ref. 23853], Lima & Toledo-Piza 2001:1062 [ref. 25823] as fimbripinnus). •Valid as Racenisia fimbriipinna Mago-Leccia 1994 -- (Albert & Crampton in Reis et al. 2003:495 [ref. 27061], Cox Fernandes et al. 2014:111 [ref. 33285], Ferraris et al. 2017:[25] [ref. 35236]). Current status: Valid as Racenisia fimbriipinna Mago-Leccia 1994. Hypopomidae. Distribution: Upper Negro and Orinoco rivers, Venezuela. Habitat: freshwater.
