Paratypes: SFC S-0002 (1), S-0003 (1). The paratypes were lost in the mails -- see Larson 2009:146 [ref. 30125]. •Valid as Calamiana polylepis (Wu & Ni 1985) -- (Larson in Randall & Lim 2000:636 [ref. 25122], Larson et al. 2008:141 [ref. 29532]). •Valid as Eugnathogobius polylepis (Wu & Ni 1985) -- (Larson 2009:143 [ref. 30125], Larson et al. 2013:196 [ref. 32988], Kottelat 2013:406 [ref. 32989], Taki et al. 2021:465 [ref. 39830]). •Valid as Wuhanlinigobius polylepis (Wu & Ni 1985) -- (Huang et al. 2014:150 [ref. 33157], Zhang et al. 2016:208 [ref. 34477], Sreeraj & Sen 2021:13 [ref. 38909]). Current status: Valid as Wuhanlinigobius polylepis (Wu & Ni 1985). Gobiidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Sundarban (India) east to eastern Indonesia, north to East China Sea (China), south to Northern Territory (Australia). Habitat: brackish, marine.
