Current status: Valid as Pangio piperata Kottelat & Lim 1993. Cobitidae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Malaya (Malaysia), Sumatra (Indonesia) and Borneo (Malaysia). IUCN (2019): Least Concern. Habitat: freshwater.
