hamatus, Tyttobrycon Géry [J.] 1973:129, Figs. 31-34 [Studies on the Neotropical Fauna v. 8; ref. 1596] Upper Amazon basin, in a tributary of the Maranon, not far from Iquitos, Peru (precise locality unknown). Holotype: MHNG 2172.30 [ex Géry coll. 0677]. Paratypes: ANSP 139719 (1); Géry coll. (orig. 10, now 9, 1 c&s). Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:47 [ref. 13621], Weber 1998:9 [ref. 32707]. •Valid as Tyttobrycon hamatus Géry 1973 -- (Géry & Römer 1997:70 [ref. 23712], Malabarba in Reis et al. 2003:158-159 [ref. 27061], Marinho et al. 2013:739 [ref. 33025], Barriga Salazar 2014:108 [ref. 35745], Abrahão et al. 2019:18 [ref. 37182], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:20 [ref. 39298], Marinho 2024:283 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Tyttobrycon hamatus Géry 1973. Acestrorhamphidae: Tyttobryconinae. Distribution: South America: upper Amazon River basin (Peru and Ecuador). Habitat: freshwater.
