Paratypes: Univ. of Thessaloniki: Aliakmon (147 spec), Edessaeos (5). •Synonym of Gobio albipinnatus Lukasch 1833, but a valid subspecies as described -- (Lelek 1987:187 [ref. 22962]). •Valid as Gobio elimeius Kattoulas, Stephanidis & Economidis 1973 -- (Kottelat 1997:60 [ref. 22952]). •Synonym of Gobio uranoscopus (Agassiz 1828), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Bănărescu 1992:320 [ref. 40251], Economidis 1995:208 [ref. 23025], Bănărescu et al. 1999:183, 190 [ref. 24853]). •Valid as Romanogobio elimeius (Kattoulas, Stephanidis & Economidis 1973) -- (Naseka & Freyhof 2004:21 [ref. 27663], Kottelat & Freyhof 2007:104 [ref. 29996], Barbieri et al. 2015:61 [ref. 35029]). Current status: Valid as Romanogobio elimeius (Kattoulas, Stephanidis & Economidis 1973). Gobionidae. Distribution: Southeast Europe: Aegean Sea basin, Greece and Macedonia. Habitat: freshwater.
