H.] 1994:383, Figs. 1, 3-4 [Copeia 1994 (no. 2); ref. 21515] Rio Solimões north of Ilha da Marchantaria, about 15 kilometers from mouth of Rio Negro at Manaus (3°15'S, 60°00'W), Amazonas, Brazil, elevation about 15 meters. Holotype: INPA 4439. Paratypes: DU F1170 (1, c&s); INPA 4533 (1), 4668-69 (1, 2), 7689 (2); MZUSP 44068 (1); USNM 325618 (1). Distribution: South America: middle and upper Amazon River basin (Brazil, Ecuador, Bolivia and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
