Authorship is Shen alone, not Shen & Wu. •Synonym of Enneapterygius vexillarius Fowler 1946 -- (Fricke 1997:355, 572 [ref. 23339]). •Valid as Enneapterygius leucopunctatus Shen 1994 -- (Chiang & Chen 2008:196 [ref. 29932] with authorship as Shen & Wu, Endo et al. 2010:9 [ref. 30815], Motomura et al. 2010:183 [ref. 31256], Meguro & Motomura 2010:1 [ref. 31252], Ho & Shao 2011:52 [ref. 31432], Koeda et al. 2016:14 [ref. 35354], Wada et al. 2021:46 [ref. 38521]). Current status: Valid as Enneapterygius leucopunctatus Shen 1994. Tripterygiidae: Tripterygiinae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: Taiwan north to southern Japan. Habitat: marine.
