Current status: Valid as Ostorhinchus neotes (Allen, Kuiter & Randall 1994). Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Indonesia east to Palau and New Ireland (Papua New Guinea), north to Philippines, south to Solomon Islands. Habitat: marine.
