O.] 1993:6, Figs. 3-4 [Wissenschaftliche Publikationen aus dem Referat Fischbestimmung des VDA-Bezirks 25, Weser-Ems, Verband Deutscher Vereine für Aquarien- und Terrarienkunde e V. 1993 (no. 1); ref. 21587] 17 kilometers northeast of Makokou, village of Latta, Ivindo basin, northern Gabon, 0°37'N, 13°00'E. Holotype: SMF 18449. Paratypes: SMF 18450-55 (1, 6, 1, 2, 1, 1). •Synonym of Epiplatys sangmelinensis (Ahl 1928), but a valid subspecies -- (Seegers 1997:15 [ref. 23895], Seegers 1997:16 [ref. 23895]). •Valid as Epiplatys neumanni Berkenkamp 1993 -- (Wildekamp 1996:96 [ref. 23649], Lazara 2001:109 [ref. 25711], van der Zee et al. 2007:93 [ref. 30034], Fermon et al. 2022:263 [ref. 39448]). Current status: Valid as Epiplatys neumanni Berkenkamp 1993. Nothobranchiidae. Distribution: Western-central Africa: Cameroon south to Gabon and northwestern Republic of Congo. Habitat: freshwater.
