martenstyni, Puntius Kottelat [M.] & Pethiyagoda [R.] 1991:303, Figs. 6-8 [Freshwater fishes of Sri Lanka; ref. 16752] Kalu River about 2 kilometers north of Pallegama, 7°33'N, 80°50'E, Mahaweli River basin, Marale District, Sri Lanka. Holotype: ZSM 27966 [now ZRC 38482]. Paratypes: CMK 6539 (2), 7078 (2), 7168 (11). Type catalog: Neumann 2011:255 [ref. 31652]. The holotype is at ZRC. •Valid as Systomus martenstyni (Kottelat & Pethiyagoda 1991) -- (Pethiyagoda et al. 2012:77 [ref. 32071], Ren et al. 2020:[5] [ref. 37805], Sudasinghe et al. 2020:[4] [ref. 37737]). Current status: Valid as Systomus martenstyni (Kottelat & Pethiyagoda 1991). Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Distribution: South Asia: central highlands of Sri Lanka. Habitat: freshwater.
