pantolepis, Champsodon Nemeth [D.] 1994:361, Fig. 11 [Copeia 1994 (no. 2); ref. 21820] About 240 kilometers north of Dampier, 18°44'S, 116°59'E, Western Australia, depth 404-406 meters. Holotype: WAM P28098-003. Paratypes: FAKU 7023-24 (1, 1), 34958-59 (1, 1), 34961 (1), 34963-66 (1, 1, 1, 1), 34980 (1). Type catalog: Moore et al. 2008:39 [ref. 30117]. •Valid as Champsodon pantolepis Nemeth 1994 -- (Mooi & Johnson 1997:158 [ref. 22929], Nakabo 2000:1071 [ref. 25182], Hutchins 2001:41 [ref. 25847], Nemeth 2001:3499 [ref. 26281] with question, Shinohara et al. 2001:328 [ref. 25995], Nakabo 2002:1071 [ref. 26193], Bray et al. 2006:1485 [ref. 29091]). Current status: Valid as Champsodon pantolepis Nemeth 1994. Champsodontidae. Distribution: Southeastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: southern Japan; northern Western Australia; New Ireland (Papua New Guinea). Habitat: marine.
