Holotype: MNHN 1997-0433. Paratypes: SMNS 13868 (1). Other material: BPBM 34312 (1). Type catalog: Fricke 1995:20 [ref. 28100], Fricke 2005:66 [ref. 29864]. Misspelled once on p. 264 as paucifaciatus. •Valid as Enneapterygius paucifasciatus Fricke 1994 -- (Fricke 1997:570 [ref. 23339], Fricke 2001:5, 6 [ref. 25985], Williams & Fricke 2001:3534 [ref. 26288], Fricke 2002:186 [ref. 29865], Randall 2005:473 [ref. 28239], Fricke 2009:41 [ref. 30394], Patzner et al. 2009:445 [ref. 30396], Fricke & Erdmann 2017:27, 29 [ref. 35129]). Current status: Valid as Enneapterygius paucifasciatus Fricke 1994. Tripterygiidae: Tripterygiinae. Distribution: Southwestern Pacific: New Caledonia. Habitat: marine.
