Holotype: AMS I.20402-036. Paratypes: AMS I.20402-055 (1); NTM S.13706-007 (15), S.13707-002 (9), S.13711-008 (60), S.13721-006 (1), S.13723-003 (3), S.17332-001 (1), S.13735-011 (1), S.13813-001 (1); WAM P.30743-001 (1). Type catalog: Moore et al. 2008:26 [ref. 30117]. •Valid as Apogon unitaeniatus Allen 1995 -- (Allen 1997:108 [ref. 23977], Larson & Williams 1997:357 [ref. 23967], Allen 1999:2607 [ref. 24812], Hutchins 2001:32 [ref. 25847], Allen et al. 2006:1097 [ref. 29004]). •Valid as Ostorhinchus unitaeniatus (Allen 1995) -- (Larson et al. 2013:113 [ref. 32988], Mabuchi et al. 2014:201 [ref. 33426] with genus uncertain, Kuiter & Kozawa 2019:97 [ref. 36965]). Current status: Valid as Ostorhinchus unitaeniatus (Allen 1995). Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean: northern Western Australia and Northern Territory (Australia). Habitat: marine.
