Trimma is neuter, so the adjective should be rubromaculatum. •Valid as Trimma rubromaculatum Allen & Munday 1995 (often seen as rubromaculata or rubromaculatus) -- (Allen 2000:121 [ref. 25868], Larson & Murdy 2001:3600 [ref. 26293], Allen & Adrim 2003:60 [ref. 26830], Hagiwara & Winterbottom 2007:164 [ref. 29103], Allen & Erdmann 2012:944 [ref. 31980], Fricke et al. 2014:174 [ref. 33932], Viviani et al. 2016:5 [ref. 34831], Fricke et al. 2019:290 [ref. 36673], Winterbottom 2019:14, 23 [ref. 37115]). Current status: Valid as Trimma rubromaculatum Allen & Munday 1995. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Indonesia east to Philippines and New Ireland (Papua New Guinea), south to Solomon Islands. Habitat: marine.
