Current status: Valid as Aulotrachichthys atlanticus (Menezes 1971). Trachichthyidae. Distribution: Southwestern Atlantic: Brazil. Records from uruguay and Argentina are erroneous (Koerber 2023:43 [ref. 40486]). Habitat: marine.
