Holotype: FMNH 101503. Paratypes: FMNH 101504 (2), 105059 (9); MEPN 4570 (9), 4751 (2); USNM 336592 (2, 1 c&s), 336594 (9). •Valid as Cyphocharax laticlavius Vari & Blackledge 1996 -- (Vari in Reis et al. 2003:55 [ref. 27061], Vari & Chang 2006:93 [ref. 28639], Barriga Salazar 2014:105 [ref. 35745], Melo 2017:118 [ref. 35213], Melo et al. 2025:270 [ref. 42108]). Current status: Valid as Cyphocharax laticlavius Vari & Blackledge 1996. Curimatidae. Distribution: South America: tributary to Jatuncocha Lagoon, western Amazon basin, Napo Province, Ecuador. Habitat: freshwater.
