Type catalog: Ferraris et al. 2017:[11] [ref. 35236]. •Valid as Magosternarchus raptor Lundberg, Cox Fernandes & Albert 1996 -- (Albert & Campos-da-Paz 1998:432 [ref. 23853], Albert 2001:110 [ref. 25614], Albert in Reis et al. 2003:499 [ref. 27061], Proudlove 2006:269 [ref. 28992]). •Valid as Sternarchella raptor (Lundberg, Cox Fernandes & Albert 1996) -- (Ivanyisky & Albert 2014:572 [ref. 35449], Ferraris et al. 2017:[11] [ref. 35236], Evans et al. 2017:22 [ref. 35357], Bernt et al. 2018:474 [ref. 35797], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:21 [ref. 39298]). Current status: Valid as Sternarchella raptor (Lundberg, Cox Fernandes & Albert 1996). Apteronotidae: Apteronotinae. Distribution: South America: deep river channels of the Amazon River basin (Brazil and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
