Current status: Valid as Diancistrus novaeguineae (Machida 1996). Dinematichthyidae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Indonesia east to,Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands, south to northern Australia and, Vanuatu. Habitat: marine.
