quignardi, Noemacheilus barbatulus Băcescu-Meşter [L.] 1967:359, Figs. 1 (A, B, C), 5 (C, D) [Travaux du Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle "Grigore Antipa" v. 7; ref. 7940] Le Lez River, near Montpellier, France. Holotype: MGAB 77. Paratypes: MGAB 78 (1), MGAB (16). Genus is correctly Nemacheilus. •Synonym of Barbatula barbatula (Linnaeus 1758) -- (Kottelat 1997:93 [ref. 22952]). •Synonym of Barbatula barbatula (Linnaeus 1758), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Vasil'eva 1998:95 [ref. 23591]). •Synonym of Orthrias barbatulus (Linnaeus 1758), but a valid subspecies quignardi (Băcescu-Meşter 1967) -- (Prokofiev 2007:15 [ref. 30343]). •Valid as Barbatula quignardi (Băcescu-Meşter 1967) -- (Kottelat & Freyhof 2007:330 [ref. 29996], Kottelat 2012:79 [ref. 32367], Gauliard et al. 2019:176 [ref. 36787]). Current status: Valid as Barbatula quignardi (Băcescu-Meşter 1967). Nemacheilidae. Distribution: Southern France and northwestern Spain. Habitat: freshwater.
