Holotype: GCM F 9. Paratypes: (7). •Synonym of Barilius vagra (Hamilton 1822) -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:353 [ref. 20764], Menon 1999:22 [ref. 24904]). •Valid as Barilius pakistanicus Mirza & Sadiq 1978 -- (Rafique 2000:323 [ref. 25220], Mirza 2000:355 [ref. 25207], Rafique et al. 2000:337 [ref. 25221], Rafique et al. 2003:97 [ref. 27173], Mirza 2003:5 [ref. 27265], Çiçek et al. 2023:28 [ref. 40326]). Current status: Valid as Barilius pakistanicus Mirza & Sadiq 1978. Danionidae: Chedrinae. Distribution: South Asia: Afghanistan, Pakistan and Kashmir (India). Habitat: freshwater.
