Current status: Valid as Eptatretus springeri (Bigelow & Schroeder 1952). Myxinidae: Eptatretinae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: Florida (U.S.A.), Bahamas, and Cuba south to Costa Rica, including Gulf of Mexico (Mexico, U.S.A., Cuba) and western Caribbean Sea. IUCN (2009): Least Concern. Habitat: marine.
