Holotype: ZRC 15049. Paratypes: ZRC 15050-52 (3). Plus additional material. Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:372 [ref. 29155]. •Valid as Ompok fumidus Tan & Ng 1996 -- (Tan & Ng 1999:285 [ref. 24254], Ng & Tan 2004:9 [ref. 27846], Ferraris 2007:372 [ref. 29155], Ng 2008:60 [ref. 29884], Ng 2013:164 [ref. 32814], Kottelat 2013:235 [ref. 32989], Ng et al. 2019:531 [ref. 36606], Ahmad et al. 2023:112 [ref. 41243]). Current status: Valid as Ompok fumidus Tan & Ng 1996. Siluridae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Thailand, Malaya (Malaysia). IUCN (2020): Near Threatened. Habitat: freshwater.
