Paratypes: (79) NMC, UMMZ 212777 (4). •Valid, but may be same as Lampetra aepyptera (Abbott 1860) -- (Lee et al. 1980:29 [ref. 22416]). •Valid as Lethenteron meridionale Vladykov, Kott & Pharand-Coad 1975 -- (Holčík 1986:227 [ref. 24819]). •Synonym of Lampetra aepyptera (Abbott 1860) -- (Etnier & Starnes 1993:96 [ref. 22809], Ross et al. 2001:70 [ref. 25978], Boschung & Mayden 2004:93 [ref. 27995]). Current status: Synonym of Lampetra aepyptera (Abbott 1860). Petromyzontidae. Habitat: freshwater.
