Paratypes: AMS I.22805-039 (4); BMNH 1986.11.27.1 (1); CSIRO 2365 (1), 2798-2799 (2); USNM 264796 (1). •Valid as Bembras megacephala Imamura & Knapp 1998 -- (Poss 1999:2384 [ref. 24796], Larson et al. 2013:89 [ref. 32988], Imamura et al. 2018:[1] [ref. 35952], Gloerfelt-Tarp & Kailola 2022:131 [ref. 41223]). Current status: Valid as Bembras megacephala Imamura & Knapp 1998. Bembridae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean: western Indonesia and northern Western Australia. Habitat: marine.
