R.] 1998:27, Fig. 1 [Revue française d'Aquariologie Herpétologie v. 25 (no. 1/2); ref. 23410] Rinca Island, southwestern corner of island at Toropropa Bay (ca. 8°44'S, 119°37'E), Komodo Group, Indonesia, depth 10-11 meters. Holotype: NCIP 6135. Paratypes: NCIP 6136-38 (3); WAM P.30960-001 (1), P.30963-001 (2). Type catalog: Moore et al. 2008:25 [ref. 30117]. •Valid as Apogon komodoensis Allen 1998 -- (Allen 1999:2606 [ref. 24812], Allen & Adrim 2003:35 [ref. 26830]). •Valid as Ostorhinchus komodoensis (Allen 1998) -- (Allen & Erdmann 2012:395 [ref. 31980], Mabuchi et al. 2014:200 [ref. 33426], Kuiter & Kozawa 2019:83 [ref. 36965], Allen & Erdmann 2024:421 [ref. 40796]). Current status: Valid as Ostorhinchus komodoensis (Allen 1998). Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Komodo (Indonesia) and Palawan (Philippines). Habitat: marine.
